Local artist Jan Tomlinson Master selected for CSA's international OA450 project in Sister City
Jan Tomlinson Master, one of 25 local, national and international artists selected for Compassionate St. Augustine's Obelisk Art 450 public art tribute to our city's 450th anniversary, is representing CSA as an exchange artist in Avilééées, Spain's version of the ocean spanning OA450 project. This unique partnership between the City of Aviles and Compassionate St. Augustine was created after both cities officially became the first official Compassionate Sister Cities in the world last Fall. In July, Pablo Rozano, the artist selected by Aviles for this exciting exchange will come to St. Augustine to interpret the values of Freedom, Democracy, Human Rights and Compassion on one of the 25 replicas of the iconic Spanish Constitution Obelisk on Public Square that will be displayed citywide from October 2015 through January 31, 2016.
Other international participants in the Aviles OA450 are from Belgium, Italy and Ireland. While in Aviles, Jan has also been teaching art students.
